What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Tooling Technician position at ALUDYNE NORTH AMERICA LLC?
Description
We are hiring a Tooling Technician to assemble and repair dies and trim dies. To build and repair all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, gauges, and dies. Assemble and try out complete tools and dies, troubleshoot tooling for repairs and modifications and ensure the PM program is followed.
- Assist other tooling personnel in the repair and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
- Attention to detail in performing work, checking work, and documenting to ensure quality, under the supervision of the designated associate.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner with good housekeeping practices
Requirements
- Must be able to read and understand work instructions, cooling diagrams, and simple assembly prints
- Must be able to remember how components are taken apart and put together again
- Must be willing to supply your own hand tools.
- Familiar with micrometers, depth micrometers and calipers and their uses
- Familiar with the proper use of hand tools, wrenches, hammers, tube benders, air tools, etc. and the accessories
- Ability to work overtime both daily and weekend if required.
- Ability to locate dies scheduled for maintenance and repair, open dies and inspect for defects, clean and polish cavities, surfaces and parting line surfaces.
- Ability to check water lines for breaks, blockage and free flow and install replacement fittings as necessary.
- Ability to replace bent or broken ejector and punch pins.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor tool problems
- Maintain die cast dies for back up
- Prepare dies/cavities for shipment to outside tool vendor; which includes removing die cavities from retainer whenever possible.
- Must be able to read a tape measure to a 1/32 of an inch and write results down on forms
- Familiar with proper operations of: drill presses, bench grinders, cut off saws, abrasive saws, and pedestal grinders
- Capable of working on hot molds (300-600 degrees F) with company provided PPE
