We’re hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Custodian to join our team. In this part-time (mornings preferred) role, you’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and presentable environment across Alturas Analytics’ facilities through daily cleaning, periodic deep cleaning, light maintenance, and basic exterior upkeep. You’ll play an important role in supporting a comfortable workplace that allows our team to focus on high-quality scientific work.
Starting pay: $17.21/ hour, DOE
Part time: Monday- Friday; 20 hours/week (morning shifts preferred); may require one Saturday shift per month

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for performing custodial and light maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment at Alturas Analytics.
Essential Duties And Tasks
- Clean and sanitize Alturas facilities, including kitchen, bathrooms, office spaces, and laboratory spaces, maintaining a consistent standard of cleanliness throughout work hours
- Perform periodic deep-cleaning, such as shampooing carpet and office furniture
- Perform light maintenance in facilities, including painting, dusting light fixtures, glass cleaning, and HVAC filter replacement
- Communicate equipment malfunctions, supply needs, and building repair issues to supervisor promptly
- Perform exterior maintenance, including:
Snow and ice removal from walkways, entrances
Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas (sweeping sidewalks, entryways)
Additional Duties And Tasks
- Provide assistance to Laboratory Management and Office Manager as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 years of work experience
- Current driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing cleaning and maintenance needs
- Good communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with supervisors
- Walking up to 2/3 of the time between departments/offices
- Standing up to 2/3 of the time
- Using hands to handle or feel up to 2/3 of the time
- Reaching with hands and arms up to 2/3 of the time
- Talking or hearing less than 1/3 of the time
- Climbing or balancing less than 1/3 of the time
