Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, and planting to keep outdoor spaces pristine and vibrant
- Operate hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment such as excavators safely and efficiently
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to ensure proper care and maintenance
- Manage irrigation systems to optimize watering schedules and conserve water resources
- Conduct lawn care activities such as aeration, fertilization, overseeding, and pest management to promote healthy turf growth
- Trim trees and shrubs using appropriate techniques to maintain safety and aesthetic standards
- Execute hardscape projects including installation or repair of patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other landscape features
- Apply pesticides responsibly following safety guidelines to control pests while protecting the environment
- Assist with snow plowing operations during winter months to ensure safe access for clients and staff
- Support landscaping projects from planning through execution with construction experience when needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or related outdoor work environments
- Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy machinery such as excavators
- Strong plant identification skills coupled with horticulture knowledge for proper plant care
- Familiarity with pesticide management practices adhering to safety regulations
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, snow plows, and construction equipment confidently
- Knowledge of lawn care techniques including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control
- Experience in tree care practices like trimming and pruning for health and safety purposes
- Construction experience is a plus for hardscape installation or repair projects
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward maintaining outdoor environments
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
