Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator supports Altruix's pharmacy logistics operations by overseeing the coordination of delivery routes, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of medications, and maintaining communication between the logistics team, pharmacy sites, and delivery personnel. This position ensures operational efficiency, compliance with company procedures, and exceptional service to internal and external partners.
This role reports directly to the Logistics Manager and provides oversight to Fleet Drivers. The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining compliance with company procedures, and delivering exceptional service to internal and external partners.
Main Responsibilities
- Allocate and coordinate Fleet resources as needed, with guidance from the Logistics Manager.
- Monitor route and driver status to ensure timely departure and arrival of deliveries.
- Ensure appropriate response and resource allocation for emergent or high-priority deliveries.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement route adjustments to ensure optimal use of resources.
- Document, communicate, and escalate issues or delays to management as appropriate.
- Serve as the main point of contact for Fleet Drivers regarding delivery issues, route concerns, and scheduling adjustments.
- Answer internal and external calls and emails promptly, ensuring timely response and resolution.
- Receive and prioritize issues, escalating according to established procedures.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve delivery and routing issues; provide solutions and process improvements.
- Create and maintain tools such as Excel spreadsheets or databases to track and report delivery performance, vehicle utilization, and project status.
- Recommend process modifications and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate proper care and maintenance of fleet vehicles; assist with service scheduling and inspection recordkeeping.
- Support hiring, training, and performance evaluation of Fleet Drivers.
- Train drivers on fleet operations and reinforce a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Perform standard Fleet Driver duties as needed to support operations.
- Assist in achieving team performance metrics and goals.
- Perform additional projects or assignments as directed by leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant certification preferred.
- 2 years of experience in logistics, dispatching, or fleet coordination.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and route management tools.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or pharmacy logistics environment.
- Supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of delivery route optimization software and fleet management systems.
