What are the responsibilities and job description for the Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Altruistic Health Services?
Shift: 12 hours (Dayshift)
- 6 Month Contract
10am-830pm and every other weekend.
Experience & Requirements:
Current valid state license for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
Possesses an active CPR certification.
Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
Employees must be able to perform the following:
1. Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
2. Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and/or crawl occasionally. Frequent walking throughout site; possibly to include walking up and down flights of stairs.
3. Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful situations encountered on the job.
4. Must possess the physical endurance to walk swiftly when responding to emergencies; must be able to perform BLS.
Responsibilities:
Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility
Administers and documents medications on the Medication Administration Record. Documents all nursing care provided.
Physically assists physician in patient examinations and treatments.
Collects samples, specimens and cultures per physician orders.
Adheres to Standard Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
