What are we looking for? 

Our team is seeking personable and motivated Top Talent to support our company as a Production Supervisor located in our Santa Fe Springs, CA facility. The Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede those operations. In conjunction with the VAS Coordinator, this role ensures Fabrication Operators, Technicians and Team Lead have enough labor to complete production schedules laid out by the Fabrication Coordinator. The person in this role maintains knowledge of production processes and equipment, while also ensuring that finished goods are produced to spec and are packaged correctly.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize available systems including JDE, SharePoint, BI Reports.
  • In coordination with JDE Team implement processes in line with company systems (JDE, SharePoint, BI Reports).
  • Supervise and monitor VAS team.
  • Ensure we maintain productivity rates and quality standards.
  • Identify areas of improvement for processes, workflows, and machinery in fabrication to gain efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
  • Ensure all Work Orders are completed in a timely manner in line with schedule.
  • Maintain all necessary fabrication records such as SOPs, Training Documents, & Safety logs.
  • Review printed Work Orders ahead of production against customer plans and drawings. Any discrepancies should be reported to the VAS CCC Manager for clarification.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in quality and create documented solutions to prevent reoccurring issues.
  • Develop and document SOP’s for all aspects of fabrication.
  • Coordinate with SFS Warehouse Manager on the inspection of defective product that needs to be isolated and reported to place a replacement order.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all materials and shop supplies and order as needed.
  • Work with the Fabrication Coordinator to conduct monthly cycle counts relating to products in fabrication area (KIN, KOUT, etc.).
  • Assist the VAS Coordinator as needed with creation/maintenance of Zund cut files.
  • Create drawings for new product jigs we have yet to make to hand over to our fabrication lead to create jigs in order for us to reproduce product consistently.
  • Estimate labor and material usage for new product requests.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, participate in the recruitment and promotion of new temps / team members.
  • Create, maintain, and execute onboarding for new team members.
  • Conduct performance appraisals in line with company policies.
  • Dispense and document disciplinary actions as needed including verbal warnings, written warning, performance improvement plans, and termination with the assistance of Human Resources and in line with company policies.
  • Work with Management to set employee goals for quarterly task bonuses.
  • Conduct employee reviews related to task goals.
  • Ensure that all team members are trained in all areas of safety relating to the production of goods and machinery used.
  • Oversee reject request tickets logged in Creatio and schedule replacements to be made with the Fabrication Coordinator as time allows and if urgent leverage overtime and extra temps when needed
  • Conduct RCA reports to ensure quality issues are identified and rectified to eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Lead team safety meetings in line with company policies, document meetings and reporting back to the Warehouse/Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure the VAS Team Lead follows the lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Ensure the VAS Team Lead is checking all equipment functioning properly, documenting, and any necessary repairs including quarterly and annual preventive maintenance are logged and conducted.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all team members including ensuring all proper safety equipment is available and document safety training, safety walks, and report near misses when observed.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of certifications of all staff and reporting to Warehouse/Facilities Manager. This includes but is not limited to forklift certifications, safety training, equipment training, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing, with 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, including welding, machining, cutting, and assembly.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of technicians.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to enforce safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant manufacturing tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as needed in a production environment.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding setting.


Hours of work: This is a full-time position with standard working hours of 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. PST Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week. Occasional variations may be required to meet inventory deadlines or accommodate business needs, and in such cases, overtime or weekend work may be necessary.

Travel: Occasional travel 1-2 times a year can be expected.
