We are actively recruiting a Stability Scientist to join our Analytical Sciences Department in Richmond, VA.
The Stability Scientist will coordinate with technical personnel drawn from multiple disciplines to develop a robust accelerated and predictive stability screening program to support our operating companies.
What you’ll be doing:
• Perform material property analysis on a wide range of sample types using multiple techniques and instrumentation including DSC, TGA, DVS, rheology/viscometry, microscopy, and moisture analysis.
• Design and conduct accelerated stability studies and extrapolating results to predict shelf life under defined storage conditions.
• Provide support to category leaders, senior scientists, product developers and factory personnel to achieve department and company initiatives
• Develop solutions to complex technical problems where few precedents exist
• Participating in scientific meetings both internal and external to maintain and expand scientific expertise
• Participate on cross-functional teams representing Analytical Sciences
What we want you to have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field
• 3 - 5 years of demonstrated experience and expertise in the field of materials science, with proven capability in a range of analysis categories such as spectroscopy, physical testing, thermal analysis, moisture analysis. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
• Prefer working knowledge of one or more of the following: accelerated stability testing, powder characterization, quality by design (QbD).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, and work well with diverse and cross-functional teams
• Excellent attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills
