Location: Los Altos
Position Type: Part-time / In-person
Altos Academy is a small, well-established learning center in the Bay Area, serving motivated K–12 students. We are currently seeking an experienced High School Chemistry Instructor to teach U.S. public high school–level chemistry in a tutoring setting.
Responsibilities
- Teach high school Chemistry aligned with U.S. public high school curriculum
- Support students with class concepts, homework, labs, quizzes, and exams
- Prepare students for unit tests and finals; AP Chemistry experience is a plus
- Provide clear explanations and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs
- Communicate student progress with our academic team as needed
Qualifications
- Strong background in Chemistry (degree in Chemistry or related field preferred)
- Experience teaching or tutoring U.S. public high school students
- Familiarity with high school Chemistry curriculum (AP Chemistry a plus, but not required)
- Clear communication skills and a patient, supportive teaching style
- Reliable, responsible, and comfortable working with high school students
Schedule & Compensation
- Flexible scheduling (weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends)
