Alton Memorial Hospital has a part-time day/Evning Lab Associate I opportunity. Looking for a lab tech with phlebotomy experience to work in a hospital setting.

Hours and schedule - 8-hour shifts; hours may vary any time between 6am - 10pm

Rotating weekends every other week - 10-hour shifts

Overview

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
