Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Wire EDM Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (Wire EDM) to produce precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical troubleshooting will ensure the highest quality standards are met. Duties
- Program and operate Wire EDM machines using CAD/CAM software to produce complex metal parts with tight tolerances
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to ensure accurate machining processes
- Set up machine tooling, fixtures, and workpieces efficiently while adhering to safety standards in production
- Conduct precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and GD&T specifications
- Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection results, and production logs
- Collaborate with fabrication, assembly, and quality control teams to meet production deadlines and quality requirements
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages and CAM programming for Wire EDM operations
- Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings with a strong understanding of shop math and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar CNC systems used in wire EDM machines
- Experience operating related manufacturing equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, stamping presses, and fabrication tools
- Ability to handle materials safely using forklifts and materials handling equipment while maintaining safety standards in the factory environment
- Mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment troubleshooting and factory machinery maintenance
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other tools for quality assurance
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including tooling setup, fabrication techniques, packaging, and assembly line operations
- Experience working within a manufacturing facility with a focus on quality control and adherence to safety protocols
