Duties
- Operate equipment such as bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other landscaping tools safely and efficiently to support tree trimming, pruning, and removal projects
- Assist arborists with rigging techniques for safe tree removal and pruning operations using specialized gear and tools
- Operating a skid steer
- Perform plant care tasks such as plant pruning, tree trimming, and supporting horticultural initiatives to improve landscape health
- Follow strict safety protocols during all operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines
- Maintain equipment by inspecting, cleaning, and performing basic repairs to ensure optimal performance during outdoor work activities
Qualifications
- Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on landscaping, land management, or utility maintenance
- Familiarity with equipment such as bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other power tools used in arboriculture and landscaping
- Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal procedures, and tree care best practices
- Ability to operate GIS software for mapping or planning tasks is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to equipment operation and outdoor work environments
- Experience in horticulture or dendrology (the study of trees) is desirable
- Growing experience in lawn care, landscaping, or related fields preferred
- Excellent physical stamina for lifting, climbing, operating machinery, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
