Altman Specialty Plants — one of the largest and most innovative horticultural producers in the nation — is looking for a hands-on, results-driven Production Planning Manager to oversee scheduling, capacity planning, and production coordination at our San Antonio, TX facility.
This onsite leadership role is critical to ensure our plants, people, and processes work in harmony to meet customer demand efficiently, accurately, and on time. You’ll partner closely with Operations, Procurement, and Logistics to bring visibility, control, and improvement to every step of production.
🌱 What You’ll Do
- Own the production schedule — align capacity, labor, and materials to deliver on-time and in-full.
- Execute sales plan through analysis of supply chain, anticipation of constraints, and adjust production plans to maintain workflow and output.
- Partner with operations and leadership to identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions.
- Manage inventory and materials coordination in collaboration with Procurement and Logistics.
- Enhance the use of ERP/MRP systems to improve accuracy, visibility, and planning efficiency.
- Track and report on key production KPIs: schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and inventory turnover.
- Champion continuous improvement through Lean and process optimization initiatives.
🌻 What You Bring
- 5 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, or operations management.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge in excel.
- Demonstrated success managing production flow and achieving on-time performance targets.
- Proven leadership skills — capable of developing teams and aligning cross-functional groups.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Experience in Agriculture is preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to work onsite daily at the San Antonio facility.
