Position Description:
Overview: The APW School District is seeking a qualified, experienced candidate to serve as district treasurer. The school district is located in the town of Parish, NY serving approximately 270 employees and 1,000 students prek-12 with a $40,000,000 annual budget. The position comes with a highly competitive salary and benefits package under a flexible professional service agreement.
Job Duties:
- Assisting SBO in developing budget proposals
- Paying all authorized obligations of district as directed
- Maintaining proper records and files of all checks and approved payment of bills and salaries
- Verifying budget calculations in grant proposals
- Inputting budget into WINCAP
- Modifying budget codes for salaried staff based upon the budget
- Meeting monthly with SBO for budget review & monitoring
- Completing FS reporting as needed for grants (request funds, budget amendments, final closeout)
- Preparing time certifications for all salaried positions
- Preparing MOE compliance/eligibility reports
- Entering cash deposits into WINCAP
- Preparing bank deposits
- Preparing A/P claims for payment
- Assist with year-end closeout and ST3 including Compensated Absences report
- Reviewing expenditures detail on a monthly basis
- Creating summary listing for input into Assetmaxx
- Reviewing monthly board meeting reports for disposed or donated items
- Reconciling bank statement
- Overseeing retiree health insurance billing
- Filing quarterly taxes
- Other duties as assigned by district superintendent
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- At least three years experience as accountant, clerk, treasurer, or related position
- Experience with WINCAP and Assetmaxx software
Salary Range:
$80,000-$90,000
