ABOUT

Our client is a Swiss-founded project freight forwarder, established in 1971, operating in 24 countries, selling one product: EPC and energy project freight, executed through its own chartering desk and transport engineering team. There is no generalist catalogue to hide behind here, and none needed. The operational record closes deals on its own.

The Houston office opened in 2010 with 45 staff and holds an 11-year average client tenure across EPC contractors, OEMs and energy developers. Project operations, chartering and engineering all sit in the same building as this sales seat, which means you can put a transport engineer in front of a prospect within a week of the first call.

This is a new seat, created because the tender pipeline for 2027 and 2028 Gulf Coast scopes has outgrown the current commercial team. Bid season for those scopes opens in the next two quarters. The company wants a dedicated project sales specialist positioned with EPC procurement before the ITBs land, not after.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will hunt project freight scopes across EPC contractors, OEMs and energy developers on the Gulf Coast.
• You will respond to ITBs and RFQs, building tender pricing with the PM group and the chartering desk across breakbulk, OOG, heavy lift and module moves.
• You will build relationships with EPC procurement and logistics leads from FEED stage forward, so the company is in the room before scopes go to bid.
• You will deliver new business GP against target and keep an honest pipeline in the CRM.
• You will stay across breakbulk and heavy lift vessel capacity and rate movements so your pricing carries conviction.
• You will run joint sales with overseas offices on cross-trade scopes.
• You will hand won scopes to operations with a proper scope document, not a forwarded email chain.
• You will represent the company at Breakbulk Americas and the industry events where EPC logistics decisions actually get shaped.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You have at least four years selling freight forwarding with demonstrable project cargo GP production, and you are ready to talk numbers in the first conversation.
• You hold live relationships in EPC or oil and gas procurement.
• You have enough technical depth to walk a laydown yard and scope a job: OOG dimensions, charter basics, what an SPMT leg does to a budget.
• You hunt. Account farming exists here, but it is not this seat.
• You keep CRM discipline without being chased for it.
• You are Houston based and willing to travel across the Gulf Coast and to fabrication yards.

WHAT'S ON OFFER

• Base salary of $100,000 to $120,000 plus uncapped, tiered commission on GP.
