Retail Sales Associate - Altitude Specialist

BUDTENDER POSTION AT ALTIUS DISPENSARY

Position Summary:
Altius, a licensed Illinois adult-use cannabis dispensary, is seeking motivated and qualified candidates to join our team as Sales Associates/Altitude Specialists. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cannabis and committed to delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves educating customers, assisting with product selection, and ensuring accurate and efficient sales transactions. The Sales Associate will maintain a clean and organized work environment and support the dispensary’s operations while upholding compliance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Engagement and Education: Connect with customers to understand their needs and educate them on cannabis products and paraphernalia. Provide guidance on product selection to ensure customers achieve their desired outcomes.
• Sales and Transactions: Complete sales transactions accurately at the point-of-sale (POS) system, including verifying online orders before pick-up and finalizing sales. Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments responsibly and follow best practices for cash handling, including cash closeouts and petty cash management.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of product offerings, including cannabis strains, consumption methods, and non-cannabis products like paraphernalia and branded merchandise. Stay informed about industry trends and vendor updates.
• Compliance and SOPs: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure a compliant and safe retail experience. Stay updated on Illinois cannabis laws and regulations and apply them consistently during all transactions.
• Store Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dispensary and work areas to provide a welcoming environment for customers and team members.
• Team Collaboration: Provide support to the management team and collaborate with coworkers to enhance the overall customer experience and store operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Open availability to work all hours required without restrictions as to the time of day or day of week, including, but not limited to, days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays

Qualifications:

• Exceptional customer service skills
• At least 1 year customer service experience in a retail, high demand, fast paced environment
• High-school diploma required
• Must be 21 years of age
• Must pass all required Federal background checks for state licensing
• Fundamental understanding of cannabinoids and their effects on the body is preferred
• Prior experience in the cannabis industry is a plus
• Passion to serve all individual

4- Are you willing to undergo a background check and fingerprinting as required under State Law?

5– Have you been arrested, charged, or convicted of any felony, violent crime, or excluded offense (see below)?

"Excluded offense" means:
A violent crime defined in Section 3 of the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act or a substantially similar offense that was classified as a felony in the jurisdiction where the person was convicted; or a violation of a state or federal controlled substance law that was classified as a felony in the jurisdiction where the person was convicted, except that the Department may waive this restriction if the person demonstrates to the Department's satisfaction that his or her conviction was for the possession, cultivation, transfer, or delivery of a reasonable amount of cannabis intended for medical use.

This exception does not apply if the conviction was under state law and involved a violation of an existing medical cannabis law. (Section 10 of the Act)
