Join our team as an HR Generalist

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and organized HR Generalist to manage the day-to-day HR operations of our practice.

Brief Description of Job (Purpose):
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist at Altitude Pediatrics provides broad support across all functional areas of HR to ensure compliance, consistency, and employee engagement. The HR Generalist manages day-to-day HR operations including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. This role serves as the first point of contact for employees and supervisors on HR matters, while supporting HR leadership in developing and implementing HR programs that align with organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Offboarding

  • Coordinates recruitment efforts, interviews, and hiring processes in collaboration with managers.
  • Conducts background checks, employment eligibility verification, and ensures compliant hiring practices.
  • Implements onboarding programs, including new hire orientation, payroll, and benefits enrollment.
  • Coordinates exit processes, ensuring compliance and protecting organizational assets.

HR Program Administration

  • Administers employee benefits, compensation, and leave programs.
  • Ensures employees are paid accurately, on time and in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Maintains accurate and compliant documentation and tracking of work hours, wage changes, benefits, and deductions.
  • Maintains accurate HRIS records and personnel files, ensuring compliance with laws and retention requirements.
  • Supports the development, implementation, and updates of HR policies, job descriptions, employee handbook, etc., in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the performance review process, ensuring consistency and documentation.
  • Provides guidance during employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations under the direction of Senior leadership.

Compliance & Organizational Development

  • Monitors compliance with mandatory trainings and labor law postings.
  • Stays current with employment law updates and best practices.
  • Maintains training records and coordinates staff development opportunities.
  • Supports cross-training and succession planning initiatives.

Employee Relations & Support

  • Responds to employee inquiries and provides support on HR policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor to staff across departments on HR-related matters.
  • Promotes employee engagement, inclusion, and recognition programs.
  • Creates and enforces a progressive disciplinary policy that outlines clear steps and ensures consistent application across the organization.
  • Advises managers on conflict resolution, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Supports safety and occupational health initiatives.

Strategic HR Contribution

  • Prepares HR metrics and reports to support decision-making.
  • Assists with workforce planning and compensation benchmarking.
  • Participates in HR projects and initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational culture.

General Tasks

  • Are authorized and permitted to take breaks and meal periods per state and federal regulations. If you are not able to take your authorized breaks and meal periods, discuss the situation with your supervisor for prior approval.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is required for this position.
  • Travel is not required.
  • Vaccination status (healthcare).
  • Working from home may be considered based on productivity and is subject to change based on work requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the organization.

Qualifications:

Education, Certification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR roles with broad generalist exposure; healthcare setting preferred.

Wage and Benefit Information:

  • $58,000 - $68,000, full-time exempt position
