Role and Responsibilities
Preparation
- Utilize computer scan system (Ritetime) to record work
- Accurately pull parts and components from inventory locations for building of finished goods.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates, samples or QPM.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies including tray hardware attachments.
- Acknowledge & report unexpected bottlenecks and/or roadblocks of assigned production tasks to meet specifications and notify supervisor.
- Use and maintain tools ranging from common hand and power tools (such as cordless drills, wrenches, allen wrenches, label gun) to bag sealer, glue gun, vises, pneumatic staple gun, thermoformer, clicker press, T-nut machine, oven and band saws and like machinery/tools.
- Verifies specifications by measuring / testing completed component.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies
- Accurately record material usage for work orders on designated paper work.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory verifications as needed.
- Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials to templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards.
- Keeps assigned equipment and tools operational by completing preventative maintenance and or replacing tools as required.
- Documents recommended actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Properly package and label complete work order.
- Accurately store product in designated location and record storage locations.
- Cross trains to higher technical skill level as well as coaching and helping new or basic skilled assemblers in training.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Perform tasks as directed by supervisor
Required Skills and Education Requirements:
- Demonstrate competence to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Competent to read and interpret documents such as quality procedure manuals and safety rules.
- Demonstrate competence to recognize production roadblocks/bottlenecks of assigned production tasks to meet specifications that arise adhering to standard practices
- Competence to use and maintain cordless drills, wrenches, allen wrenches, label gun, pneumatic staple gun, thermoformer, clicker press, T-nut machine, band saws and like machinery/tools.
- Ability to use good judgment to improve job efficiencies, recommending changes to supervisor.
- Demonstrate competence to respectfully communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
- Demonstrate competence to guide and coach new employee assemblers, alerting supervisor of personnel issues
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of computer operation
