We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is ready to move beyond basic checklists and become a key player in a novel community health model. In this role, you will provide high-quality direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and other providers. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Althing, you are the face of our clinic and a critical link in the patient experience. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Monitor patients' health by checking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Collect samples for routine laboratory testing (urine, blood, etc.) and perform basic diagnostic tests like EKGs as needed.
- Administer basic medical care, including wound dressing, changing bandages, and assisting with clinical procedures.
- Prepare and administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, or IM) as prescribed by physicians and within the state’s scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and medical records; document all patient observations, treatments, and medications administered.
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and care plans.
- Work closely with CNAs and other healthcare staff to ensure a seamless delivery of care.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). What We’re Looking For
- Education: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- License: Valid and active LPN license in the state of Minnesota.
- Certification: Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Experience: 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
