Role Description
This is a full-time role for an Insurance Advisor, based in Chagrin Falls, OH, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Insurance Advisor will be responsible for offering expert insurance advice, managing client accounts, assessing client needs, and providing tailored insurance solutions. You will combine sales expertise with a consultative approach to help individuals and businesses protect what matters most. Key duties include consulting on insurance policies, assisting clients with claims, analyzing financial data to provide the best coverage options, and maintaining excellent customer service through effective communication and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Consultation & Risk Assessment
Meet with clients to understand their insurance needs and assess potential risks.
Provide strategic recommendations for coverage across personal, commercial, and specialty lines.
Educate clients on policy details, coverage options, and risk management strategies.
- Sales & Business Development
Proactively generate new business through networking, referrals, and community engagement.
Manage a portfolio of clients and ensure growth through upselling, cross-selling, and renewals.
Achieve individual and team sales goals, contributing to overall agency performance.
- Account Management
Build long-term client relationships with a focus on trust, transparency, and ongoing support.
Monitor existing policies and advise clients on changes or updates as their needs evolve.
Assist with claims support and advocate for clients throughout the process.
- Risk Management Advisory
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to minimize exposure for clients.
Provide guidance on loss prevention and industry best practices.
Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in insurance sales, financial advising, or risk management (agency or brokerage setting preferred).
- Strong knowledge of insurance products (life, health, auto, home, commercial, etc.).
- Ability to analyze client needs and recommend tailored solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Active insurance license(s) or willingness to obtain (state-specific requirements).
- Experience in risk management and knowledge of various insurance products
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
- Ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
