Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a Senior People Technology Administrator to serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for the administration, stability, and continuous optimization of Alterra's People Technology ecosystem, with Workday as the core platform.
This role owns day-to-day system administration, configuration, security, data integrity, reporting, releases, and enhancements, while partnering closely with Human Resources, Total Rewards, Payroll, IT, and external vendors. The Senior People Technology Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring scalable, secure, and intuitive people systems that support Alterra's diverse workforce across North America.

Essential Duties
Platform Administration & Ownership
- Serve as a senior administrator for Workday and supporting People Technology tools.
- Own system configuration changes across core Workday modules including: Absence, Benefits, Compensation, HCM, Integrations, Payroll, Performance, Recruiting, Reporting, Scheduling, Security, Talent, and Time Tracking.
- Maintain data integrity, role-based security, business processes, and tenant health.
- Act as escalation point for complex system issues and production incidents.
- Lead requirements gathering and solution design for enhancements and process improvements.
- Translate business needs into scalable system solutions using Workday leading practices.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve user experience, efficiency, and automation.
- Partner with AMS, internal IT, and or cross functional partners on configuration, fixes, and roadmap execution.
- Design and maintain advanced reports, dashboards, and data extracts for cross functional partners.
- Support operational, compliance, and leadership reporting needs to ensure data driven decision making.
- Partner with stakeholders to enable trusted, secure access to robust people data.
- Coordinate and lead testing for biannual Workday releases to identify impacts and opportunities.
- Assess impacts, communicate changes, and drive adoption of new functionality across business units.
- Support vendor integrations, EIBs, and inbound or outbound data flows.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leaders and functional teams regarding system capabilities and technical solutions.
- Provide expert guidance on leading practices, cross functional dependencies, and downstream impacts.
- Mentor junior team members on configuration, reporting, and platform concepts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5 years of Workday configuration experience with a deep understanding of business process architecture.
- Strong business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, testing, and documentation for both technical and functional audiences.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple tasks and complex projects in a fast-changing environment.
- Proficient in the MS Office suite, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Expert in the use of Workday Reporting tools and Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs).
- Strong research and analytical skills with a focus on data integrity and process improvement.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to drive results independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and directed with the ability to learn quickly
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or certificate in human resource management, or equivalent experience. Diploma or certificate in information technology will also be considered.
- BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology or a related field
- 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources, Information Technology or similarly applicable field
- Workday PRO certification
- Experience in Microsoft Power BI tool or other analytic tools
- Conceptual understanding of various integration tools
