We provide a 24-Hour Helpline, pregnancy tests and options counseling, limited ultrasound services, STD testing and treatment, adoption education, pre- and post-natal medical care referrals, financial and legal referrals, and counseling after abortion. All services are provided free of charge.
We are looking for someone who is:
A supportive and compassionate counselor specializing in one-on-one care for post-abortive women. Known for strong integrity, strict confidentiality, and well-maintained interpersonal and therapeutic boundaries. Dedicated to preserving the mission and standards of the program for clients, volunteers, and the organization. Lives out a committed relationship with Jesus Christ and upholds the sanctity of human life in both personal values and professional service.
Position Summary:
To coordinate and lead the counseling after abortion (post-abortion) ministry of Alternatives. Provides one-on-one counseling for post-abortive women. Coordinates groups of post-abortion clients and co-facilitators. Educate the surrounding community on the effects of post-abortion stress and work to engage women in post-abortion healing. This position requires a person of integrity with a high level of awareness of confidentiality, a solid practice of interpersonal and therapeutic boundaries, continued fidelity of the program for clients, volunteers and the organization.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree in counseling or social work/ Preferably Licensed.
Preferred:
- Experience counseling grief and loss, PTSD and relationship issues. Has experience in crisis intervention and crisis counseling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for direct supervision of counseling after abortion volunteer team, including other post-abortion counselors, interns and volunteer group facilitators.
- Schedule and perform post-abortion client intakes to determine level of service. Make appropriate assessment for client needs, timely response to client calls and emails.
- Counsel clients in need of individual post-abortion counseling; assess client’s readiness to participate in a group.
- Refer clients to outside sources for counseling and other resources, as deemed appropriate.
- Coordinate, plan and implement post-abortion groups throughout the year.
- Maintain documentation for each client contact.
- Maintain client statistics and records in data management system
- Regularly attend group and individual supervision with the Clinical Supervisor.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
