We are hiring: Front Desk Receptionist - ABC Building

Starting Wage

  • Salary: The starting salary for this position is $16.00-$18.00/hour, DOE

Job Type

  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Schedule

  • Standard Hours: 8am-5pm – Monday-Friday

Training

  • Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.

To be a successful Receptionist - you will need the following:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience in a clerical, receptionist, administrative, or similar role.
  • Valid driver’s license and agency insurability.
  • Ability to pass drug test, including federally prohibited substances.
  • Ability to pass full background check.
  • Excellent office skills including - computers, phones, typing, printers, and standard office equipment.
  • Customer service skills – this role is high volume assisting our community clients of Alternatives.
  • Excellent communication skills and public relations skills.

About the team

As our Front Desk Receptionist you will work closely with our Lead Front Desk Receptionist and the Beta and Compass teams of Alternatives.

You are instrumental as the face of our ABC building, welcoming and checking in our community clients for a variety of services.

You will help our other teams stay organized with schedules, assist other team members with monitoring equipment, and be an overall customer service presence.

What Will You Do in This Position?

You are the primary face of the ABC building, responsible for greeting the public, clients, and anyone who stops by our building. A friendly and helpful demeanor is key. You will be the first point of contact for incoming calls, which you will screen and handle as necessary.

Attention to detail is key in this role – as you will assist with scheduling on staff calendars, juggle calls and in-person clients, and process, track, and manage documents on a regular basis.

PTO

  • Accrual: Start accruing PTO from your first paycheck. Full-time (40-hour) employees with 0-2 years of employment accrue 4.65 hours per pay period, totaling 15 days a year.
  • Increased Accrual with Tenure: Accrual rates increase at 3 years, 5 years, and every subsequent 5-year mark, up to 25 years.
  • Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.

Paid Holidays

  • Full-Time Employees: Enjoy 11 paid holidays.
  • Part-Time Employees: Employees working 20-30 hours per week also receive paid holidays on a pro rata basis.
