Alternative Automotive is looking for a strong Automotive Service Advisor / Front Counter professional to join our team in Winfield, Missouri.
We are a family-owned repair shop that has been serving our community since 2012. We have a strong reputation, a high car count, a solid technical team, and an owner who is actively involved in the shop. We are not looking to replace someone in a struggling business. We are adding another strong person at the front because the opportunity is here.

What you will do
- Welcome customers and create a strong first impression at the front counter
- Communicate with customers in person, by phone, and by text/email
- Present repair recommendations in a clear, organized, customer-friendly way
- Help customers understand what their vehicle needs now, what can wait, and why
- Build value in the work instead of simply quoting a price
- Keep customers updated throughout the repair process
- Create and manage repair orders and invoices accurately
- Follow up on declined work and pending recommendations
- Help maintain good communication between the front counter and the shop
- Support daily workflow and help keep the day moving smoothly
What we are looking for
- Previous automotive service advisor or front counter experience is strongly preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Professional, friendly, and confident personality
- Ability to explain technical information in a way customers can understand
- Organized and able to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable asking for approval and helping customers make decisions
- Good phone skills and follow-up habits
- Basic computer skills and ability to work in shop management software
- Valid driver’s license

Pay structure
This position includes a 1-month training pay period, then moves into a performance-based commission pay plan.
Compensation includes:
- 10% of personal GP$
- 2% of total shop GP$
