We CARE for our patients like they are our own FAMILY. $5000 SIGN ON BONUS Registered Nurse (RN) Preceptor Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Agency: Alternate Solutions Home Health SUMMARY The Registered Nurse (RN) Preceptor completes clinical training for all new hire field staff. The Preceptor works with the training team to ensure delivery of quality training. The RN Preceptor ensures the COP for the Skilled Home Aide is met by providing the required competency evaluation at hire and at any time deemed necessary by the agency, as well provides training of home health aides when new education is needed and supervision of home health aides during the supervised practical portion of the trainings. The RN Preceptor ensures compliance with all federal, state, and agency rules and regulations. ASHN adopts the RN scope of practice as outlined by the state for its licensed RN personnel. The RN is responsible for all practices and duties within the scope of practice as outlined by the state. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Completes training for all field staff new hires at assigned location/s Ensures proper training and documentation techniques are taught to staff that follow and fulfill CMS guidelines Provides training of home health aides and the supervision of home health aides during the supervised practical portion of the trainings Grades field training documents to ensure understanding of documentation system Work in the field with staff as needed Ensure quality and safe delivery of home health services Monitor field nurse activities regarding execution of OASIS, ICD9 coding, etc. Work with Training Team to deliver complete initial and recurrent clinical training Collaborate with Training Manager regarding new initiatives Collaborate with Quality Team to improve patient outcomes Develop tools and learning aides for field staff and clinical training for annual competencies Work with Training Manager to develop clinical care documents, disease management processes and clinical policies Reviews clinical documentation in accordance with agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines Work with Training Manager to ensure program compliance with local, state and federal regulations Maintains active RN license in state of employment Maintains a professional appearance as a representative of the company Understands, implements and practices policies and procedures for agency operation Performs assigned duties with use of computer and phone Completes and submits all required documentation within specified company requirements Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Two years of nursing experience, at least one year must be in the provision of home health care Previous clinical training experience preferred Ability to drive to assigned training locations, as needed Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are preferred as well as electronic medical documentation Ability to create positive impressions and communicate with a variety of people and maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians and co-workers Ability to remain calm, have patience, compassion and be accommodating while caring and working with patients Knowledgeable on nursing best practices Ability to make appropriate nursing judgments Ability to identify a situation and handle it with the best possible solution. Detail-oriented and observant Disciplined style of work ethic. Ability to prioritize and be timely.
