Alterman, Inc. has an opening for the position of BIM Technician I. The BIM Technician I will be responsible for providing support and services using BIM technologies to support for Alterman, Inc.’s projects. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong proficiency in visualizing the constructability of various projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce project deliverables as required by Project Engineers, Project Managers and Estimators.
- Able to produce accurate shop drawing from Revit.
- Create views, sheets, sections, and dimensions.
- Produce As-Builts in Revit and Bluebeam.
- Follow and contribute to department standards, methods, and best practices, both written and oral.
- Accurately track and document appropriate project metrics and logs as required.
- Maintain all design project files and folders to department standards.
- Active participation in department activities.
- Upload/download and maintain project files as assigned
- Print and scanning documents, print / engrave labels, and tags.
- Ensure that all design requests are NTP (Notice to Proceed).
- Produce models, shop drawings, schedules, and data.
- Desire and willingness to learn and grow
- Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of Revit, AutoCAD or field experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of BIM authoring tools such as Revit (2 years equivalent), AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Navisworks
- Ability to work calmly under deadlines and external pressure.
- Proficient skills in all office programs (Excel, Word and Outlook), Bluebeam and the ability to learn new software.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent math, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent quality control and data verification skills – verify information and check your work
