Job Description
Quality – Patient Assessment and Evaluation
- Effectively qualify patient and medical record to determine if quality outcomes are attainable and if pay source is appropriate.
Customer Service - Referral Management and Recruiting
- Builds and maintains referral stream to meet census mix objectives set forth in facility budget.
- Utilizes Hospital portals to identify new business and provide immediate onsite visit.
- Obtains other new referral information from Admissions Coordinator to provide immediate onsite visit.
- Recruits new referrals from discharge planners.
- Provides visit and assessment of readmission plan for patients who have readmitted to hospital.
- Communicates effectively with facility including Admissions Coordinator, DON and Administrator.
Trends referrals and admissions to the market area pursued
Obtains and utilizes Discharge information to communicate with referral sources
- Submits necessary reporting and analysis timely.
Sales and Marketing
1. Development of relationships with new accounts and maintain existing accounts to ensure retention of the referral source business.
2. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the center’s products, services, acuity trends and physician relations.
- Maintains awareness of admitting and attending physician’s opinions regarding center
- Identifies new referral sources and the addition of attending and specialty physicians.
- Maintains up-to-date target list of potential new referral sources
- Effectively networks with current/past customers to solicit referrals
- Maintains active involvement in at least one key professional organization/association
- Maintain a knowledge of local market trends and competitor offerings.
CENSUS PERFORMANCE
- Accountable for driving referrals to assist the facility in achieving census budget.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Good physical condition.
SPECIAL DEMANDS
- Must be results driven and goal oriented
- Must have strong time management skills, be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Must be able to travel throughout the Facility’s market area, as well as to business office meetings, seminars, etc.
- Must keep updated on Medicare and Medicaid regulations and procedures in order to counsel responsible parties in their decision process
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years healthcare experience with sales and marketing.
Local area resident with established relationships in surrounding healthcare community preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of reimbursement systems and admissions process.
Knowledge of center’s products, local market trends and Matrix.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will involve travel the majority of the time - mileage reimbursement per company policy.
