As the Director of Field Application Engineering (FAE) at Altera, you will lead a global team of FAEs dedicated to delivering exceptional technical support and fostering strong customer relationships. Your role will be pivotal in driving the adoption of Altera's FPGA solutions across various industries, ensuring customer success, and contributing to the company's growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of FAEs, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Implement training programs to enhance technical expertise and soft skills within the team.
• Establish performance metrics and conduct evaluations to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  
  

Customer Engagement & Technical Support

• Serve as the primary technical liaison for key accounts, addressing their needs and resolving issues promptly.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Collaborate with sales and product teams to tailor solutions that align with customer requirements.
  
  

Strategic Planning & Execution

• Provide insights to product development by relaying customer feedback and market trends.
• Develop and execute strategies to expand the FAE team's impact, including process improvements and resource allocation.
• Monitor industry developments to inform strategic decisions and maintain competitive advantage.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Represent Altera at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to promote the company's solutions.
  
  

Compensation Range

The compensation below is reflective of a sales role that includes a salary incentive. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor within the US market. Actual compensation may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc.

Qualifications

What We Want to See:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in field application engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing global teams and driving customer success.
• Strong understanding of FPGA technologies, system architecture, and industry-specific applications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel as needed to support customer engagements and team development.
  
  

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience in embedded systems, AI/ML, or semiconductor industries.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
