As part of this transformation, we are migrating to GitHub Enterprise and building a lightweight governance layer leveraging Azure Cloud technology to ensure a consistent experience across teams.
We are seeking a Cloud Application Infrastructure & Security Engineer who is passionate about cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and secure application development. This role combines infrastructure engineering, security leadership, and hands-on development to help shape the future of Altera’s cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage scalable, secure infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
- Guide and implement security practices and influence company-wide standards
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code
- Develop event-driven governance systems using Azure Functions
- Implement observability and monitoring across infrastructure and applications
- Contribute to application code (primarily Python, with exposure to other languages) and drive it from development to production
- Advise IT and engineering teams on cost optimization for GitHub and Copilot usage

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise and managing GitHub Organizations
- Strong background in cloud architecture and security
- Hands-on experience with Azure deployments, debugging, and servicing
- Proficiency in Python or other backend languages (C#, C a plus)
- Familiarity with CI/CD runners, SSO, DNS, and enterprise infrastructure services
- Knowledge of vulnerability management and DevOps automation
- Solid understanding of Git and Git-based platforms (GitHub or GitLab)
- Experience with application observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, OpenTelemetry)
- Ability to model and enforce infrastructure governance across teams
- Experience driving standards and best practices in cloud environments
- Experience with designing ease of use into the User Experience
