Job Title: Maintenance Director – Skilled Nursing Facility
Location: Fairhope, Alabama

Altera Health and Rehabilitation is hiring a Maintenance Director to oversee all facility maintenance operations at our skilled nursing facility in Fairhope, Alabama.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the building, equipment, and grounds are safe, compliant, and operating at a high level. We are looking for someone who understands healthcare environments and takes ownership of their building.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and life safety regulations (including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and National Fire Protection Association standards)
- Maintain preventative maintenance programs and required documentation/logs
- Conduct routine inspections of the building, systems, and grounds
- Manage maintenance staff and coordinate with outside vendors
- Respond to work orders and urgent maintenance needs quickly and efficiently
- Support facility readiness for state surveys and inspections
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors
Qualifications
- Experience as a Maintenance Director in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living, hospital, or similar healthcare setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
- Understanding of Life Safety Code and regulatory compliance in healthcare
- Ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience preparing for or participating in surveys is a plus
