We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.Position ResponsibilitiesEngineer mechanical components and subassemblies for rotating machinery to satisfy customer specifications and targeted performance objectives, working under the guidance of a lead engineerCreate detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings, and perform supporting analyses such as tolerance accumulation, bearing load calculations, and preload assessmentsEnsure designs comply with company requirements and applicable industry standards, including GD&T and design-for-manufacturability principlesServe as a technical contributor in design, manufacturing, and test reviews by evaluating designs, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actionsExecute assigned tasks in alignment with approved budgets and project schedulesReview customer requirements and contribute to technical proposals, cost estimates, test plans, process qualification documents, bills of materials, schedules, and engineering reports as neededProactively identify and resolve technical issues affecting current products or new development effortsMaintain clear, timely communication with peers and leadership regarding technical progress, challenges, and potential risksAssist with testing and validation activities for both new and existing products, with oversight from senior engineering staffFollow established safety practices and actively support continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental initiativesSupport occasional domestic and international travel (typically once per quarter)Be available for extended or off-hour work during peak project phases when requiredEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related disciplineMinimum of four (4) years of experience in mechanical design within a product development and manufacturing environmentTechnical Skills and CompetenciesHands-on experience designing rotating machinery such as motors, generators, or similar systemsAbility to create and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including proper application of GD&TSound engineering judgment across multiple mechanical disciplinesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesEffective interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and customersWell-developed organizational, documentation, and reporting skillsProficiency in developing 3D CAD models and 2D drawingsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office toolsFamiliarity with common shop and inspection tools, including measurement equipmentPreferred QualificationsExperience designing bearing systems and wound componentsKnowledge of rotor dynamics principlesFamiliarity with oil and air cooling approaches for rotating equipmentExposure to aerospace standards such as DO-160, ARP4754A, and ARP4761Experience using CATIASalary Range:$85,000-90,000The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience ALTEN Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
