What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the implementation of Battery Pack Assembly information systems in collaboration with site and global teams, including network infrastructure, hardware interfacing, data collection, and server communication scripting.
- Define and refine system specifications for vendors covering design, fabrication, and installation.
- Act as the primary liaison between Battery Pack Assembly and cross-functional teams (IS / One-Tech, EDC, MDT, NAMC).
- Drive end-to-end integration of information systems across production lines, supporting line control, parts selection, traceability, and Andon systems.
- Develop and manage Information System Technology Notices for Battery Pack Engineering in North America.
- Plan, monitor, and track project progress across design, build, installation, and validation phases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve interlock issues between production equipment and information systems during setup and production trials.
- Guide equipment engineers on integration standards and requirements across North America.
- Support travel to plants and suppliers across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and international locations (including Japan), with occasional extended hours and weekend support as needed.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or Associate’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience).
- Flexibility to support off-shift work, weekends, holidays, and extended hours for project execution.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing information systems and data collection platforms (QIS, EDC, MDT).
- Strong experience with Andon systems and production line control (status monitoring, downtime tracking, reporting, and visualization).
- Proven experience in production equipment procurement, installation, and validation.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Omron, Siemens).
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Toyopuc PLC programming.
- Background in Assembly, Body, or Powertrain manufacturing systems.
- Experience with quality information systems and traceability solutions.
- Strong knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, FLnet, TCP/IP) and wireless integration.
- Familiarity with serial communication protocols.
- Programming knowledge in C , C#, Java, HTML, or Python.
- OSHA 10 certification.
