Position Overview
Altech is seeking a Voice Architect with deep telephony and network experience to provide design, operations, and troubleshooting support for enterprise voice systems. The role includes leading a small team of engineers, guiding improvements, and ensuring high-availability voice services across multiple sites.
This is a hybrid role based in Huntsville, AL (2–3 days onsite at Redstone Arsenal, remainder remote). The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise voice and telephony solutions.
- Provide daily operations support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of voice systems.
- Mentor and guide junior telephony engineers.
- Conduct lifecycle management for voice hardware and software.
- Research and remediate security vulnerabilities; maintain system security documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis and incident resolution for complex telephony/network issues.
- Create engineering documentation, installation guides, and system drawings.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent experience (10 years).
- 10 years of hands-on experience in telephony design, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Strong background with Cisco telephony (CUCM, Unity, UCCX, Session Manager).
- Experience with Microsoft Phone System, Direct Routing, and Survivable Branch Appliances.
- Expertise in SIP, SRTP, RTP, T1, PRI, SSL, and certificate management.
- Knowledge of Cisco and Oracle Session Border Controllers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Proven ability to lead incident response and technical teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work Location & Schedule
- Hybrid role: 2–3 days onsite at Redstone Arsenal (Huntsville, AL), remainder remote.
- Start Date: ASAP.
Salary Range
- $120,000 – $130,000 annually (DOE).
