Job Description
We are seeking a Safety Intern to join our Corporate Safety Team at our Headquarters in Birmingham, AL for Summer 2025. This internship offers hands-on experience across both corporate and manufacturing environments, providing valuable exposure to real-world safety operations.
Selected candidates may work in some or all of the following areas:
- Spend a few days each week on-site at one of our manufacturing facilities to gain a deeper understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) practices and the operation of manufacturing equipment; remaining days will be based at our corporate headquarters.
- Support and collaborate with a local manufacturing site during one of our company-wide Safety Rapid Continuous Improvement (RCI) quarterly events.
- Participate in and/or co-lead a Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) Learning Team event at a manufacturing facility.
- Take part in the Altec Safety Maturity Matrix review process, working directly with site leadership.
- Complete a special project during the internship that is mutually beneficial to the intern and the organization.
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Safety & Health or a closely related degree.
