Job Description
Altec Worldwide (AWW) is hiring an Accounting Manager in Birmingham, AL. Associates in this position independently maintain financial records and complete transactions accurately and timely. These associates understand not only what to do but why. This position requires a balance of daily responsibilities and project work.
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs complex accounting responsibilities with limited supervision within deadlines
- Preparing internal financial statements
- Assisting with regulatory reporting
- Coordinating the divisional budget process
- Maintaining financial systems
- Identify issues, understand business impact and involve stakeholders in resolution
- Contribute to team planning and organization
- i.e. task prioritization, resource allocation, understanding team workload dynamic and impact of individual deadlines to greater team
- Lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining internal financial controls
- Provide group training
- May have direct reports
- All other duties as assigned (i.e. foreign exchange valuations, credit and treasury functions)
- High School Diploma or GED AND
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance AND
- 6 years of industry experience or 4 years of public accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Foreign language skills preferred

- 0-25% Travel (may include international travel)
