Corrosion Technician / Field Inspector
Location: Houston, TX or Angleton, TX
Travel: Up to 75% within the U.S.
Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Corrosion Technician/Field Inspector to join our growing Energy team. While prior experience in this role is not required, the ideal candidate is eager to learn and thrive in a field-based environment performing indirect surveys, annual surveys, and CP troubleshooting for clients across the United States.
This position offers exposure to multiple markets and geographies, providing opportunities to broaden knowledge and deepen technical skills. We value independent self-starters who are also team-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Perform indirect and annual surveys, CP troubleshooting, and field inspections
- Assist with design and evaluation of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems and stray current mitigation
- Support AC mitigation team with field data collection
- Conduct third-party reviews of corrosion and CP-related reports and designs
- Deliver accurate, timely, and cost-effective integrity services that meet client and industry standards
- Design CP systems and DC interference mitigation systems; assist with AC mitigation designs
- Assess CP and AC interference survey data
- Perform engineering calculations (resistance, attenuation, current distribution, etc.)
- Coordinate installation of stray current mitigation and CP systems
- Prepare technical reports, design packages, procedures, and specifications
- Stay current on pipeline integrity codes and emerging technologies
- Participate in integrity assessments, risk evaluations, and other related projects
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel up to 75% within the U.S.
- Ability to lift and handle field survey equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and self-motivation
- Desire to learn and grow professionally
- Minimum AMPP certification level CP1 required
