Manual Machinist II

JOB DUTIES: 

•    Set-ups and operates manual mills and lathes on a limited variety of materials with litmited assistance

•    Uses milling, drilling, grinding, and other machines  

•    Lays out work and produces quality parts  

•    Decipher sketches, blueprints, and engineering details with assistance 

•    Carries a job through from raw materials to the finished products from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instruction

•    Sharpens, reworks, resets and repairs cutting tools

•    Inspects and checks parts being produced

•    Maintains accurate production records and job history

•    Keeps a clean and orderly work area

•    Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution required

•    3 years of experience in manual machining

•    Has a mid level knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials

•    Be able to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls

•    Be able to reach overhead

•    Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time

•    Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks

•    Be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
