About us

Altamira is a full service home medical equipment provider specializing in providing home accessibility equipment, including stair lifts, vehicle lifts, ramps, and patient lifts for the elderly and disabled.

The Installation Technician is responsible for the delivery, assembly, installation, and education of the home accessibility equipment including but not limited to stair lifts, patient lifts, vehicle lifts, ramps and related products.

Responsibilities of the Installation Technician include the following:

1. Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with clients.

2. Deliver and install home medical equipment to clients in the states of New Jersey, Southern and Eastern New York (including Long Island), Eastern Pennsylvania, and Northern Delaware to include but not limited to, mobility and accessibility products, stairlifts, ramps, and vehicle lifts. Occasional overnight trips.

3. Demonstrate and explain Home Medical Equipment (HME) in the client’s home and obtain appropriate documentation.

4. Complete basic administrative tasks and complete and organize paperwork to include measure sheets, client authorizations, and photographing jobs.

5. Perform service requests as needed, as well as rotational on-call weekend services according to the schedule.

6. Provide assistance to the Installation Manager as needed.

7. Repairing delivered equipment in the field and in the warehouse.

8. Loading and unloading of trucks.

9. Perform warehouse duties including forklift operations, receiving, shipping and maintaining organization and cleanliness.

10. Logging complaints from patients and facilitating follow up.

11. Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle; keeping it stocked with needed supplies for day-to-day activities.

12. Complete bi-weekly truck inventories and assist with warehouse inventory as needed.

13. Participate in training classes and in-services when provided.

14. Participate in company committees and meetings when requested.

15. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.

16. Report any misconduct, suspicious, or unethical activities to the Installation Manager.

17. Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with Company policy.

18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Installation Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. 1-2 years installing durable medical equipment (DME) such as stairlifts, ramps, and auto lifts preferred.

3. Mechanical Inclination and aptitude in tool use

4. Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

5. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the past three years.

6. Drug Free workplace

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions in this job description:

1. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear.

2. The employee is required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment.

3. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
