Job Summary
Altamaha Health Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house subacute rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care to residents recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a collaborative healthcare environment focused on patient-centered care and functional recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence
- Accurately document patient treatments, responses, and progress in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines
- Monitor resident condition and communicate changes to the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team
- Educate residents and families on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and safety precautions
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility policies and procedures
- Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented rehabilitation environment
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Georgia PTA license in good standing
- CPR certification preferred
- Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
