Engineer
Job Summary
Engineer (Troy, MI, or other unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.). Responsibilities include: Handling multiple structural strength and durability test requirements through automotive new model development while refining analytical and testing procedures. Working with design and manufacturing departments internally and external suppliers to ensure new automotive body components (such as roof, fuel/charge lid, fender and side panel outer) meet structural strength and durability test requirement standards. Evaluating technical design proposals utilizing CATIA V5/V6 software packages for modeling and ANSA and ABAQUS software packages for simulation. Working with technical leadership and technicians to create, prioritize and execute test plans for structural strength and durability of automotive body systems utilizing Kyowa and EDAQ data acquisition hardware. Making technical decisions, reporting research activity and test results from automotive development in various technical formats with moderate supervision from technical leadership.
Education/Experience Required
12 mon in: Dewesoft; CANape; DATK; Tableau, Root Cause Analysis. Academic course work must have included: SolidWorks; SpaceClaim; Ansys; MATLAB. 5% Domestic Travel. Telecommuting permitted. 40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
