The Charge Registered Nurse is accountable for assessing, planning, supervising, and evaluating patient care. This role involves integrating the nursing process with the medical care plan and hospital policies. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating nursing activities for the shift
- Assigning patients and staff duties
- Overseeing the delivery of care
- Monitoring workflow
- Coordinating overall patient care activities
- Assisting with hiring and disciplinary actions
- Supporting professional development and training for nursing staff
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Leading quality improvement initiatives and participating in performance assessments
- Managing emergency situations efficiently and effectively
- Maintaining accurate documentation and patient records
- Serving as a resource and mentor for less experienced nursing staff

Education:
A graduate from an accredited nursing program is required, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree.

Licenses/Certificates:
- Current New Mexico RN License
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
