Position Summary
The Educational Administrator oversees the educational operations of Alta Vista Academy, ensuring alignment with state regulations, licensing standards, and best practices. This leadership role includes staff supervision, compliance oversight, curriculum implementation, training development, and collaboration with school districts, families, and clinical partners.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Leadership & Supervision:
• Provide supervision and support to teachers and paraeducators.
• Conduct regular (minimum weekly) meetings with Special Education teaching staff.
• Conduct weekly all staff meetings and weekly supervisor meetings. • Support curriculum oversight developed by Special Education Teachers, lesson implementation, and classroom planning.
• Assist staff with classroom behaviors and promote safe learning environments.
• Conduct performance evaluations for educators and paraeducators.
Policy, Compliance, and Licensing:
• Support the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Washington Administrative Code (WACs), Revised Code of Washington (RCWs), private school certification, and non-public agency requirements.
• Maintain required documentation and compliance logs.
• Update contracts, forms, safety plans, and program materials as needed. Collaboration & Coordination
• Observe and support intake of new students, including classroom observations and onboarding coordination.
• Serve as a liaison between Alta Vista and school districts, students, and families.
• Coordinate IEP-related services and ensure multi-disciplinary team collaboration to support student success.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor to ensure behavioral supports are integrated into the academic environment.
Training & Culture Building
• Develop and implement ongoing professional development and training for educators and support staff, including new staff onboarding.
• Foster a strong, positive team culture aligned with Alta Vista’s mission and values.
• Support and coordinate school events for students, staff, and community.
Student Environment & Safety
• Oversee modifications to student spaces to ensure they are individualized, therapeutic, and safe.
• Promote best practices in trauma-informed care and positive behavior support.
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience in special education, behavioral education, or alternative education settings.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Salary : $83,000 - $97,000
