Position Overview:
Responsible for safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment needed to perform multiple duties. Must be able to conduct pre-shift equipment check and perform light service/maintenance work. May need to assist in machine maintenance and repair activities. Perform other miscellaneous mining activities as required in surface mine.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operates heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Must be proficient in the operation and understanding of some or all of the following types of equipment: Loaders, Dozers, Excavators. Additional equipment experience is a plus.
- Conducts pre-shift equipment check on each machine prior to use for each shift of operation. Will also need to complete end of shift reports for area manager to review.
- Be willing to perform light service and/or maintenance on any machine in operation, whether the machine you are operating or any other machine in the fleet.
- Understand and obey Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) rules and regulations, whether operating a machine or working on foot. Current MSHA certification a plus.
- Effective communicating for both operational efficiency and safety coordination with other operators and ground personnel.
- Preferred for those who are also experienced on the ground and know how to change gearboxes, bearings, replace belts, etc. to assist day to day mining operations to help consistency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience operating heavy equipment in heavy civil or mining related industry
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to speak fluent English
- Valid Driver's License
- Authorization for pre-employment background check and drug screen

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
