Job Summary
Join our team! Develop strong personal relationships with the students, establishing the Library Media Center as a welcoming and inviting place where everyone belongs. Plan, initiate, and carry to completion the clerical, secretarial and administrative activities related to the operations of the Elementary Library Media Centers. Assist students in selecting appropriate reading material, and developing a culture that values and celebrates literacy in all its forms. Developing programs and opportunities for students to develop as readers (reading groups, reading partners, tracking books completed, book shares, etc.) Collaborating with classroom teachers to identify readers in need of support, and developing learning opportunities to improve fluency and comprehension. Developing opportunities for advanced readers to continue to develop and mature. Assist students and teachers in locating appropriate, credible, unbiased, relevant resource materials. Maintain accurate school records in the areas of printed and digital materials, technology resources, and other school resources as needed. Prompt and effective response to assigned technology support tickets. Provide effective and efficient tier I technical support including but not limited to: Password Resets Account management on district provided software services (Google, Spelling City, IXL, etc.) WIFI connectivity issues Assisting users with printing and copying Software application assistance (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Classroom, etc.) Minor hardware repairs (reattaching keyboard buttons, screen replacement, battery replacement, etc.) Monitoring the progress of secondary students participating in virtual learning opportunities as needed, and developing interventions for students falling behind. Distribution and collection of district materials such as textbooks, calculators, etc, at the beginning and end of each semester. Establish and enforce clear behavioral expectations
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum High school diploma, AA Degree or higher preferred • Demonstrated technical knowledge of computers and computer systems • Excellent personal skills, especially in working with children • An ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges • A strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond expectations • A team-oriented, growth-focused mindset that will identify and carry out improvements within the organization. • Attention to detail and accuracy CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Certified
