Overview
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing indirect purchase of consumables for the chemical plant. In addition, this role will source vendors, manage invoices, and ensure accurate entry into SAP.

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing indirect purchase of consumables for the chemical plant. In addition, this role will source vendors, manage invoices, and ensure accurate entry into SAP.

- Work with all departments to support their purchasing needs including maintenance and engineering departments
- Manage indirect purchasing for the plant
- Maintain supplier relationships while analyzing supplier quality, capability, capacity, service, and costs
- Partner and communicate with vendors, and to respond and address all issues concerning the indirect purchases
- Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost
- Enter goods and services receipts in SAP
- Resolving invoice discrepancies, blocked invoices, open order reports, and other purchasing issues
- Ability to be cross trained on other roles within the administration functions for the plant to include direct purchasing
- At least one year’s experience in relevant position
- Bachelor's degree in business admin, supply chain or related field preferred
- Must possess negotiation skills and ability to work independently.
- Outstanding problem solving and organizational abilities
- Strong communication skills are essential
- Demonstrated ability to work well in teams
- Strong analytical and math skills
- SAP experience preferred
- Experience in budget management and financial control a plus
