We are seeking a dependable Class A CDL Driver to support our paving and site‑work operations. This role is critical to keeping crews supplied, equipment moving, and jobs running efficiently.
Position: Class A CDL Driver
Employment Type: Full‑Time Location: BOISE , IDAHO
Reports To: Fleet Manager / Superintendent
Key Responsibilities
Truck & Equipment Hauling
- Safely operate Class A trucks to haul equipment (pavers, rollers, skid steers, excavators) to and from job sites.
- Load, secure, and unload equipment using chains, binders, and proper tie‑down procedures.
- Transport materials such as asphalt, aggregate, and construction debris as needed.
- Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and maintain accurate logs.
Jobsite & Crew Support
- Coordinate with paving and site crews to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
- Assist with staging equipment, fueling, and basic maintenance when required.
- Maintain communication with dispatch, superintendents, and project managers regarding schedules and delays.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations.
- Maintain clean driving record and up‑to‑date medical card.
- Report mechanical issues immediately and keep truck clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record.
- Experience hauling construction equipment or operating lowboy/tilt‑deck trailers preferred.
- Knowledge of load securement, tie‑down requirements, and DOT regulations.
- Ability to operate construction equipment for loading/unloading is a plus.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‑paced construction environment.
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, or weekends during peak paving season.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed.
- Climb on/off trailers and equipment safely.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
