ROLE SUMMARY:
Alston & Bird is seeking a highly motivated individual to partner with our Human Resources, Attorney Hiring and Diversity & Inclusion departments to support the areas of data sourcing, review and integrity of the HRIS system to meet the business needs of the firm, under the direction of the Senior HRIS Manager, to deliver exceptional customer service and timely insights to internal and external customers.

Essential Duties:
  • Providing analytical support to the Human Resources Information System team including implementation, conversions, upgrades, and data security
  • Assist in maintaining data integrity of the HR database using data entry procedures and regular audits of the data (including the performance of audits and data transfer)
  • Serving as a liaison between HR and the business units at the Firm as it relates to the data entry input quality, regular audit procedures and the report writing capabilities
  • Assist with development of processes and software to meet the reporting needs of various departments
  • Utilizing database reporting and applications for internal requests
  • Support the year-end rollover of information within the database
  • Coordinating with HR team members to analyze, design, test, and implement programs to meet special and ongoing need for human resource information
  • Collaborates with software vendors and other users to assure support in meeting human resources objectives
  • Participates in the review, testing, and implementation of HRIS upgrades and patches.
    Helps troubleshoot issues.
  • Meets with users to analyze, design, develop, test, and implement programs to meet special and on-going needs of human resources information
  • Meets with users to develop, maintain, produce, and distribute standard and custom reports and queries
  • Acts as liaison with managerial and systems analysis personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming involved
  • Supports analysis of system test runs to correct coded program and input data
  • Assists with the revision of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements
  • Compiles documentation of program development and subsequent revisions.
  • Ensures that programs and new initiatives are carried out in accordance with company's policies and procedures
  • Analyzes and provides recommendations to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee work problems
  • May make presentations to explain the purpose and goal and to seek compliance and understanding of HR policies
  • May conduct research to determine the effectiveness of personnel programs and policies.
  • May develop and propose process improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to advance the effectiveness of HR and operations
  • Works closely with team to implement and evaluate revised HR data policies.
  • Strategizes and identifies unique opportunities to locate and collect new data, explores and mines data from many angles, and determines what it means
  • Anticipates future HR needs and assures computer systems are in place to meet future needs of the Firm
  • Provides other HR services as needed
Skills Needed to be Successful:
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships throughout the Firm.
  • Ability to effectively handle telephone calls and email responses with established Firm etiquette and professionalism.
  • Thorough knowledge of Firm standards, practices, and procedures to effectively meet Firm employee and Department needs.
  • Ability to understand and manipulate numerical information.
  • Ability to understand data structures and to extract meaningful information from databases.
  • Prior knowledge of
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable, client service-focused, collaborative, organized and skilled at multitasking
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Prior experience in legal or professional services required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous analyst, information systems and/or HR experience of 3 years preferred
  • Previous experience with Workday HCM system, highly preferred
