Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product information or demos to enhance their shopping experience
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to keep the store organized and inviting
- Promote upselling opportunities by recommending additional products or services to customers
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support store operations by managing inventory levels, restocking items, and organizing displays in line with merchandising standards
- Provide bilingual support to serve a diverse customer base effectively (if applicable)
Experience
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a customer-focused attitude above all
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially in guiding new team members or managing small teams during shifts
- Experience conducting product demos or upselling can help maximize sales opportunities
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environments is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays
