TITLE: Equipment Loan Program Assistant/Driver- Northern California
REPORTS TO: Equipment Loan Program Manager
OFFICE LOCATION: Northern California
STATUS: Full- Time, non/exempt
PAY RANGE, DOE: $20-$24/hourly
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
ALS Network exists to support people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and their loved ones through compassionate care, meaningful connection, and trusted resources. We partner with the ALS community to improve quality of life today while advancing advocacy efforts that elevate urgent needs, influence policy, and expand access to care, while driving the discovery of prevention strategies, treatments, and cures for tomorrow. Under the direction and guidance of the Equipment Loan Program (ELP) Manager, the Equipment Loan Program Assistant/Driver will primarily support ELP with organization of Equipment storage unit, equipment deliveries, equipment returns, equipment donations, basic cleaning of equipment and related documentation.
The position is based at the ALS Network office in Berkley, California. Worksites will include multiple locations where the ELP operates and inventory is stored. This position will require occasional evening and weekend work.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Organize, maintain and clean equipment storage units in Northern California counties and some Central California counties.
· Maintain any ELP items held at the Berkeley office in an organized and orderly fashion in areas of the office designated for ELP use.
· As directed by ELP Manager, will be responsible to picking up and deliver equipment loans and donated items.
· Request LA office to send donation receipt letters via Happy Fox.
· Clean and inspect donated and returned equipment for safety issues and possible need for repairs.
· Properly dispose of broken and unusable equipment.
· Maintain all batteries on equipment by assuring they are regularly charged.
· Assured all equipment is labeled as directed.
· Complete Blackbaud ReNXT documentation in constituent’s record.
· Complete and obtain signature on Equipment Loan Application for each item delivered/loaned out.
· Arrange for equipment repair as directed by ELP Manager.
· Manage cost of repairing equipment.
· Keep maintenance log of equipment.
· Follow all ELP Van/vehicle policies and procedures, including completion of vehicle logs, maintaining the van in optimal condition and clean, inside and outside at all times.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in committee meetings, conference calls and staff meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the agency’s mission.
- Attend Community Outreach events as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and executive staff.
- Follow all client confidentiality regulations and HIPAA.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· College degree or a minimum of 2 years work experience.
· Ability to plan, prioritize multiple projects/duties when faced with interruptions, fluctuating workload, and conflicting deadlines, and complete them in timely manner.
· Commitment to accuracy, excellent attention to detail, highly efficient and conscientious about thorough follow-up.
· Team player who enjoys interaction with professionals, peers, volunteers and those served by the organization. High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and use tact and diplomacy.
· Ability to monitor supplies, order them in a timely manner.
· Must have valid California driver’s license and meet California insurance requirements.
· Ability to safely lift 30 pounds
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· This position is primarily on the road servicing the Bay Area with an occasional in-office weekday requirement, and evening or weekend hours for events and meetings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Moderate and occasional lifting, pushing, pulling or exerting force of up to 30 pounds.
· Regular sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
· Regular reaching with hands and arms.
· Frequent and repetitive manual dexterity needed for using a cellphone, tablet, and computer keyboard.
· Occasional need to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
TRAVEL:
· Valid California Driver’s License.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Occasionally, local, regional, and limited national travel are required.
