Responsibilities
About the role:
Accounting Specialist - Collections will be responsible for assisting with the timely completion of the daily accounts receivable function.
- Conduct research and provide clear and succinct responses to customer and manager inquiries regarding customer accounts. Contact clients regarding outstanding balances.
- Document activities and communications regarding customer balances.
- Assume responsibility for a defined book of collections and escalated past due balances.
- Skip tracing.
- Assist with new customer qualification including credit reporting, credit scoring and contacting customer references.
- Respond in a timely manner and assure resolution to all management and client inquiries.
- Assist with end of month closing.
- The description of duties is not intended to be all-inclusive, or to limit the discretionary authority of the management to assign other tasks with similar responsibility for which the individual has demonstrated competency through performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You:
- 5 years accounting experience, Corporate environment;
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office – particularly Outlook and Excel;
- Must have a demonstrated proficiency with integrated Accounting Software Applications, preferably Microsoft Business Solutions Dynamics SL (Solomon) or similar ERP;
- Attention to detail and a high level of organizational skills with the ability to multi-task;
- Must have positive attitude and work well with others;
- Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in Collections, finance, accounts receivable, business administration, and other related areas
- Minimum of three years of experience with ERP systems and Microsoft (MS) Office, particularly MS Excel; (pivots and advanced formulas); Oracle experience is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Able to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Able to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
- Able to lift and carry files weighing up to 5 pounds.
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
