Job Summary:

A Lead Registered Behavior Technician (Lead RBT) plays a crucial role in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). They work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or another qualified professional to provide direct therapy to clients, often children or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities. In addition to the responsibilities of a standard RBT, a Lead RBT may also oversee and support a team of RBTs, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

The Lead RBT is responsible for implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting data, and providing direct one-on-one therapy to clients using principles of ABA. The Lead RBT will also support and train a team of RBTs, provide feedback, and ensure that all team members are following the established protocols and procedures.

  • Direct Client Interaction:
    • Implement behavior intervention plans as designed by the BCBA.
    • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to clients in home, school, or clinical settings.
    • Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage appropriate behaviors.
    • Collect accurate and detailed data on client behaviors and progress.
  • Team Supervision and Support:
    • Mentor and train a team of RBTs to ensure high-quality service delivery.
    • Assist with the onboarding and training of new RBTs.
    • Provide ongoing feedback, support, and guidance to RBTs.
    • Monitor RBTs to ensure adherence to intervention plans and protocols.
  • Program Implementation and Oversight:
    • Review and ensure the accurate implementation of behavior intervention plans.
    • Conduct regular checks to verify that RBTs are using the correct data collection methods.
    • Collaborate with the BCBA to update and adjust intervention plans as necessary.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with the BCBA, team members, and families.
    • Participate in team meetings to review client progress and discuss treatment strategies.
    • Report any concerns or incidents to the supervising BCBA promptly.
  • Documentation and Data Management:
    • Record and maintain detailed session notes and data in accordance with company policies.
    • Assist in the analysis of data to track client progress and identify trends.
Qualifications:

  • Must have an active RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as an RBT.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different service locations if required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to go up and down stairs
  • Must be able to keep up with an eloping child.


Working Conditions:

  • May require evening and weekend availability depending on client needs.
  • Work may take place in a variety of settings, including homes, schools, and clinics.


Lead RBT Compensation Structure:

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits may include health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
  • Direct scheduled billable hours are 15 hours per week
